From Manhattan:
Take West Side
Highway to 95 North (Cross Bronx Expressway). Get off at
Webster Ave.(2 exits past Deegan). Make a left, which puts you
on Webster Ave. north. Go about a mile until you hit Fordham Road
(look for a Sears on the right). Make a left onto Fordham Road.
Go three blocks until you see Tiebout Ave (look for store called
Freddy’s). Make a left, and then go two blocks down. House
is on the left, 4 houses after you pass 187th Street.
From Manhattan,
East Side:
Take FDR Drive
to Major Deegan North (87). Get onto 95 north (toward CT). Exit
at Webster Ave. and follow directions above.
From Westchester:
1. Take Bronx
River Parkway to Fordham Road Exit. Continue on Fordham Road past
the university; when Fordham Rd. becomes a hill, make the third
left onto Tiebout (look for Freddy’s), two blocks to house.
or
2. Major Deegan
(87 South) to Fordham Road Exit, make left onto Fordham Road,
continue on Fordham up hill and past elevated subway; 2 blocks
past subway Fordham road curves left; take straight spur (188th
Street), go 2 blocks past Grand Concourse to Tiebout Ave., right
turn to house.
From Connecticut:
1. 95 South to
287 West (aka. Cross Westchester Exp). Get onto Hutchinson River
Parkway South. Exit onto Cross County Parkway; take exit to Bronx
River Parkway South, exit at Fordham Road and follow directions
from Westchester #1 above.
or
2. 684 South or
Merritt Parkway South to Hutchinson River Parkway South, follow
directions in number 1.
From Queens and
Long Island:
Whitestone or
Throgs Neck Bridge to 95 South (towards GW Bridge), get off Exit
4B (Rosedale Ave. - Bronx River Parkway), get on Bronx River Parkway
North, get off Exit 7W (Fordham Road), follow Westchester #1 directions
above.
From New Jersey:
GW Bridge to 95
North to Webster Ave., follow directions above from Manhattan.
D Line:
Take D uptown to Fordham Road. Get off in
middle of train. At exit you will be at 188th and Grand Concourse.
Walk down 188th Street, IN THE SAME DIRECTION AS THE TRAFFIC,
2 blocks to Tiebout. Make right, 1 block to house.
4 Line:
4 uptown to Fordham
Road. When you get off train, start walking down EAST Fordham
Road (look at street signs to be sure). After 2.5 blocks, you
will see 188th street spur off from Fordham Road. Continue down
188th, 2 blocks past the Grand Concourse, to Tiebout. Make right,
1 block to house.
Metro North:
Take Harlem Line
to Fordham Road Stop (NB: Make sure to take the Local; the Express
skips the Fordham Road stop!). Get out at the northern end of
the platform; when you exit the station, make a right (up the
hill) 3 blocks to Tiebout Ave, make a left; 2 blocks to house.
BX-M4 (A or
B) Liberty Lines Bus:
Get off at the
Fordham Road stop. Walk down the Grand Concourse in the opposite
direction of the bus (BTW, do NOT cross the Grand Concourse!)
1 block to 188th Street, make a left and follow the directions
form the D train above.
