The best way to mark a score for editing is with a red Sharpie Pen or a red ball-point pen. Please photocopy scores (single-sided, please!) for editing; I need to put marks and notes in the score during the editing.

Please mark the scores clearly using a T between the takes, as shown below:

In the above example, the T shows going from Take 8 to Take 5.

If marking a section that has repeats, mark the editing for the repeat under the staff (otherwise, editing is always marked above the staff.)

Always clearly indicate the date of the session if a piece was recorded on more than one tape or on different days.

I am willing to take as much responsibility as you need to help in editing decisions, but keep in mind that any time that I spend in that capacity is billed at the regular editing rate. Therefore, it is most cost-effective for you to make as many of the decisions as possible prior to editing.

PLEASE be clear about your expectations - if you want to pick a basic take and then have me decide on repairs to that take, say so! I have not developed my mind-reading ability to that level (yet).

A note about loading for editing: loading is billed at the regular editing rate (see Main Info sheet for explanation). I CAN load during a session in order to skip having to load specific takes for editing, but be advised that loading during a session: 1. Slows down the session by about 1/3, and 2. Is billed at the editing rate (because of the use of the editing system during the session). I advise not loading during sessions for those reasons.

Please remember that editing work done when you are not present is billable at the same rate as when you are present.
